Interior Features

The new Chevy Trax has a high-tech and well-crafted interior. It is a small subcompact SUV with an upscale and roomy interior. The new Chevy Trax can seat up to five people in the front and second row. Both rows offer sufficient legroom and headroom, contributing to a comfortable ride. Also, in the front row, you will get a well-equipped dashboard featuring several elements, including an easy-to-use 7-inch infotainment touchscreen. The center console ensures an enjoyable driving experience, mainly when paired with your device. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are useful features in the pairing process. Satellite radio and a Wi-Fi hotspot are also included on the center console. Cloth upholstery and adjustable front seats are standard. When you opt for the Premium Seat package, you will get several convenient features such as synthetic leather upholstery and heated front seats.

The new Chevy Trax is suitable for trips due to the cargo area behind the rear seats. It offers 18 cubic feet of cargo space, and it can increase to 48 cubic feet when you fold the back seats. Those are good ratings for hauling luggage when traveling. In the second row, you will get the equipment used to develop the child's car seat, including a tether anchor and LATCH connectors. More interior features include cupholders in the front and rear, cargo space lights, adjustable headrests, lumbar supports, and interior lighting.

Performance Features

Powering the new Chevy Trax is a turbocharged four-cylinder with 155 horsepower, perfect for your commute from State College to Williamsport. The engine handles most driving scenarios very well. The engine is bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission that delivers well-timed shifts. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel-drive is optional. Shoppers looking forward to saving on fuel should stick with the front-wheel-drive, which gives the engine an estimated EPA rating of 28 mpg combined city and highway. On the other hand, the all-wheel-drive will make the rating dip to 26 mpg.

The new Chevy Trax can easily maneuver around turns and crowded places like urban centers due to its small stature. Its excellent braking system contributes to agile handling. Opting for the all-wheel-drive may dip the fuel efficiency ratings, but at the same time, you will be able to experience superb performance on rough terrains and harsh road conditions. The drivetrain works together with traction control to ensure the vehicle utilizes the available traction on the road.

Safety Features

With the new Chevy Trax, you get several safety features. It is equipped with a backup camera, a common safety component you will encounter in most vehicles. The safety tech gives the driver a good view of the rear part when reversing, mainly in tight places. Electronic stability control is another safety feature that ensures the vehicle is stable by detecting or reducing any loss of traction. There is also low tire pressure warning that alerts the driver when the tire pressures are too low. If the light at the gauge cluster is illuminated, your tires are underinflated and could lead to possible tire failure. Lap-shoulder seat belts and an airbag occupancy sensor are also standard. Optional safety features include rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring, which gives beeping warning sounds when it is not safe to switch lanes while on the freeways.
